  • 1 Faith in the Lord ’s Righteousness To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. In Ps. 56:11 the Lord I put my trust; How can you say to my soul, “Flee as a bird to your mountain”?
  • 2 For look! Ps. 64:3, 4 The wicked bend their bow, They make ready their arrow on the string, That they may shoot secretly at the upright in heart.
  • 3 Ps. 82:5; 87:1; 119:152 If the foundations are destroyed, What can the righteous do?
  • 4 The Lord is in His holy temple, The Lord ’s Ps. 2:4; (Is. 66:1); Matt. 5:34; 23:22; (Acts 7:49); Rev. 4:2 throne is in heaven; (Ps. 33:18; 34:15, 16) His eyes behold, His eyelids test the sons of men.
  • 5 The Lord Gen. 22:1; (James 1:12) tests the righteous, But the wicked and the one who loves violence His soul hates.
  • 6 Upon the wicked He will rain coals; Fire and brimstone and a burning wind 1 Sam. 1:4; Ps. 75:8; Ezek. 38:22 Shall be the portion of their cup.
  • 7 For the Lord is righteous, He Ps. 33:5; 45:7 loves righteousness; His countenance beholds the upright.
