The Nave Then he brought me to the 41:1The main inner hall nave and measured the side pillars; 41:1Approx. 9 ft. or2.7m, a cubit was approx. 18 in. or 45 cm six cubits wide on each sidewasthe width of the 41:1Lit tent side pillar.
The width of the entrancewasten cubits, and the 41:2 Lit shoulders sides of the entrancewerefive cubits on each side. And he measured 41:2 Lit its length the length of the nave, 41:2 Approx. 60 ft. long and 30 ft. wide or 18 m and 9 m forty cubits, and the width, twenty cubits. The Holy of Holies
Then he went 41:3 Of the inner sanctuary inside and measured each side pillar of the doorway, two cubits, and the doorway, six cubitshigh; and the width of the doorway, seven cubits.
He measured its length, twenty cubits, and the width, twenty cubits, before the nave; and he said to me, “This is the Holy of Holies.”The Wall, Side Chambers, and West Building
Then he measured the wall of the houseof Yahweh, six cubits; and the width of the side chambers, four cubits, all around about the house on every side.
The side chambers were in three stories, 41:6Lit chamber upon chamber one above another, and 41:6Lit thirty times thirty in each story; and 41:6Lit they were coming the side chambers extended to the wall whichstoodon 41:6Lit the inside of the side chambers their inward side all around, that they might be fastened, and not be fastened into the wall of the houseitself.
The side chambers surrounding the house were wider at each successive story. Because the structure surrounding the house went upward by stages on all sides of the house, therefore the width of the houseincreasedas it went higher; and thus one went up from the loweststoryto the highest by way of the 41:7Lit middle secondstory.
I saw also that the house had a raised 41:8Lit height platform all around; the foundations of the side chambers were a full rod of 41:8Approx.10.25ft. or3.1m, a long cubit was approx.20.5in. or 52 cm six 41:8Or to the joint long cubitsin height.
The 41:9Lit width thickness of the outer wall of the side chamberswasfive cubits. But the free space between the side chambers belonging to the house
and theouterchamberswastwenty cubits in width all around the house on every side.
The 41:11Lit doorway doorways of the 41:11Lit side chamber side chambers toward the free spaceconsisted ofone doorway toward the north and another doorway toward the south; and the width of the place of the free spacewasfive cubits all around.
The building thatwasin front of the separate area at the side toward the westwas 41:12Approx. 105 ft. or31.5m seventy cubits wide; and the wall of the buildingwasfive cubits 41:12Lit wide thick all around, and its lengthwas 41:12Approx. 135 ft. or40.5m ninety cubits. The Measurements of the Building
Then he measured the house, 41:13Approx. 150 ft. or 45 m one hundred cubits long; the separate area with the building and its wallswerealso one hundred cubits long.
Also the width of the front of the house andthat ofthe separate 41:14Lit area areas along the eastside totaledone hundred cubits.
He measured the length of the building 41:15Lit to along the front of the separate area behind it, with a 41:15Or passageway gallery on each side, one hundred cubits, along with the inner nave and the porches of the court.Carvings and Furnishings
The thresholds, the 41:16Or framed latticed windows, and the 41:16Or passageways galleries round about their three stories, opposite the threshold, were paneled with wood all around, andfromthe ground to the windows (but the windows were covered),
over the entrance, and to the inner house, and on the outside, and on all the wall all around inside and outside, by measurement.
It was 41:18Lit made carved with cherubim and palm trees; and a palm tree was between cherub and cherub, and every cherub had two faces,
a man’s face toward the palm tree on one side and a young lion’s face toward the palm tree on the other side; they were 41:19Lit made carved on all the house all around.
From the ground to above the entrance cherubim and palm trees were 41:20Lit made carved, as well asonthe wall of the nave.
The doorposts of the nave were square; as for the front of the sanctuary, the appearance of one doorpost was like that of the other.
The altarwasof wood, three cubits high and its length two cubits; its corners, its 41:22Lit length base, and its 41:22Lit walls sideswereof wood. And he said to me, “This is the table that is before Yahweh.”
The nave and the sanctuary each had a double door.
Each of the doors had two leaves, two 41:24Or turning swinging leaves; twoleavesfor one door and two leaves for the other.
Also there were 41:25Lit made carved on them, on the doors of the nave, cherubim and palm trees like those 41:25Lit made carved on the walls; andthere wasa canopy of wood over the front of the porch outside.
There were 41:26Or framed latticed windows and palm trees on one side and on the other, on the sides of the porch; thuswerethe side chambers of the house and the canopies.
