  • 1 Psalm 75 God Judges with Equity For the choir director. 75:0Lit Do Not Destroy Al-tashheth. A Psalm of Asaph. 75:0Possibly a title for a tune, cf. Deut 9:26;1 Sam 26:9;Is 65:8 A Song.We give thanks to You, O God, we give thanks,For Your name is near;Men recount Your wondrous deeds.
  • 2 “For I select an appointed time,It is I who judge with equity.
  • 3 “The earth and all who dwell in it 75:3Or totter melt;It is I who have firmly set its pillars. 75:3Selah may mean Pause, Crescendo, Musical Interlude Selah.
  • 4 “I said to the boastful, ‘Do not boast,’And to the wicked, ‘Do not raise up the horn;
  • 5 Do not raise up your horn on high,Nor speak with insolent 75:5Lit neck pride.’ ”
  • 6 ¶Forone’srising up does notcomefrom the east, nor from the west,And not from the 75:6 Or mountainous desert desert;
  • 7 But God is the Judge;He puts down one and raises up another.
  • 8 For a cup is in the hand of Yahweh, and the wine foams;It is full ofHismixture, and He pours from this;Surely all the wicked of the earth must drainanddrink down its dregs.
  • 9 ¶But as for me, I will declareitforever;I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.
  • 10 And all the horns of the wicked I will cut off,Butthe horns of the righteous will be raised up.
