1 Psalm 72 Give the King Your Judgments Of Solomon.O God, give the king Your judgments,And Your righteousness to the king’s son.
2 72:2Or He will judge May 72:2Many of the pronouns in this Psalm may be rendered He since the ultimate reference is to the Messiah he render judgment to Your people with righteousnessAnd Your 72:2Or humble afflicted with justice.
3 Let the mountains lift up 72:3Or prosperity peace to the people,And the hills, in righteousness.
4 72:4Or He will vindicate May he give justice to the 72:4Or humble afflicted of the people,Save the children of the needy,And crush the oppressor.
5 ¶ 72:5Or They will fear Let them fear You while the sunendures,And 72:5Lit before the moon as long as the moon,fromgeneration toallgenerations.
6 72:6Or He will come down May he come down like rain upon the mown grass,Like showers that water the earth.
7 72:7Or The righteous will flourish May the righteous flourish in his days,And abundance of peace until the moon is no more.
8 ¶May he also have dominion from sea to seaAnd from the River to the ends of the earth.
9 72:9Or The nomads will kneel Let the desert creatures kneel before him,And his enemies lick the dust.
10 72:10Or The kings...will bring Let the kings of Tarshish and of the coastlands bring a present;The kings of Sheba and Seba offer tribute.
11 72:11Or All kings will bow down And let all kings bow down to him,All nations serve him.
12 ¶For he will deliver the needy when he cries for help,The 72:12Or humble afflicted also, and him who has no helper.
13 He will have compassion on the poor and needy,And the 72:13Lit souls lives of the needy he will save.
14 He will redeem their 72:14Lit soul life from oppression and violence,And their blood will be precious in his sight;
15 So may he live! And may they give to him the gold of Sheba;And let each pray for him continually;Let each bless him all day long.
16 ¶May there be abundance of grain in the earth on top of the mountains;May its fruit wave likethe cedars ofLebanon;And may those from the city blossom like vegetation of the earth.
17 May his name endure forever;May his name 72:17To obtain descendants; or sprout forth increase 72:17Lit before the sun as long as the sunshines;Letall nations 72:17Or experience blessing repeatedly, bless themselves be blessed in him;Let all nations call him blessed.
18 ¶Blessed be Yahweh God, the God of Israel,Who alone works wondrous deeds.
19 And blessed be His glorious name forever;And may the whole earth be filled with His glory.Amen, and Amen.
