1 “Now Bezalel and Oholiab and every person 36:1Or skillful wise at heart, to whom Yahweh has given 36:1Or skill wisdom and discernment to know how to do all the work of the service ofconstructingthe sanctuary, shall do in accordance with all that Yahweh has commanded.”Making the Tabernacle
2 Then Moses called Bezalel and Oholiab and every person 36:2Or skillful wise at heart to whom Yahweh had given 36:2Or skill wisdom, everyone whose heart stirred him, to come to the work to do it.
3 And they received from Moses the entire 36:3Lit heave offering contribution which the sons of Israel had brought 36:3Lit to perform it for the work to do the work in the service of the sanctuary. And they stillcontinuedbringing to him freewill offerings every morning.
4 And all the 36:4Or skillful wise men who were doing all the work of the sanctuary came, each from 36:4Lit his the work which 36:4Lit they were he was doing,
5 and they said to 36:5 Lit Moses, saying, Moses, “The people are bringing much more than enough for the service of the work which Yahweh commandedusto 36:5 Lit do it do.”
6 So Moses commanded and a 36:6Lit voice proclamation was passed throughout the camp, saying, “Let no man or woman any longer do the work for the 36:6Lit heave offering contributions of the sanctuary.” Thus the people were restrained from bringingany more.
7 Indeed, the 36:7Lit work material they had was sufficient and more than enough for all the work, to do it.
8 And all those 36:8Or skillful wise at heart among those who were doing the work made the 36:8Lit dwelling place tabernacle with ten curtains; of fine twisted linen and 36:8Or violet blue and purple and scarletmaterial, with cherubim, the work of a skillful designer, 36:8Lit he Bezalel made them.
9 The length of each curtain was 36:9Approx. 43 ft. or12.6m twenty-eight cubits and the width of each curtain four 36:9A cubit was approx. 18 in. or 45 cm cubits; all the curtains had 36:9Lit one measure the same measurements.
10 He 36:10Or coupled joined five curtains to one another, andthe otherfive curtains he 36:10Or coupled joined to one another.
11 He made loops of 36:11Or violet blue on the edge of the 36:11Lit one curtain from the end in the coupling outermost curtain in the first 36:11Lit coupling set; he did likewise on the edge of the curtain that was 36:11Lit one curtain from the end in the coupling outermost in the second 36:11Lit coupling set.
12 He made fifty loops in the one curtain, and he made fifty loops on the 36:12Lit end edge of the curtain that was in the second 36:12Lit coupling set; the loops were opposite each other.
13 He made fifty clasps of gold and 36:13Or coupled joined the curtains to one another with the clasps, so the tabernacle was one unit.
14 Then he made curtains of goats’hairfor a tent over the tabernacle; he made eleven curtains 36:14Lit in number in all.
15 The length of each curtainwas 36:15Approx. 45 ft. or13.5m thirty cubits and four cubits the width of each curtain; the eleven curtains had 36:15Lit one measure the same measurements.
16 He 36:16Or coupled joined five curtains by themselves andthe othersix curtains by themselves.
17 Moreover, he made fifty loops on the edge of the curtain that was outermost in thefirst 36:17Lit coupling set, and he made fifty loops on the edge of the curtainthat was outermost inthe second 36:17Lit coupling set.
18 He made fifty clasps of 36:18Or copper bronze to 36:18Or couple join the tent together so that it would be 36:18Lit one a unit.
19 He made a covering for the tent of rams’ skins 36:19Or tanned dyed red and a covering of porpoise skins above.
20 Then he made the boards for the tabernacle of acacia wood, standingupright.
21 Ten cubitswasthe length of 36:21Lit the each board and one and a half cubits the width of each board.
22 There weretwo tenons for each board, 36:22Lit bound fitted to one another; thus he did for all the boards of the tabernacle.
23 And he made the boards for the tabernacle: twenty boards 36:23 Lit to the side of the Negev, to the south for the south side;
24 and he made forty bases of silver under the twenty boards; two bases under one board for its two tenons and two bases under another board for its two tenons.
25 Then for the second side of the tabernacle, on the north side, he made twenty boards,
26 and their forty bases of silver; two bases under one board and two bases under another board.
27 For the 36:27Lit extreme parts rear of the tabernacle, to the west, he made six boards.
28 And he made two boards for the corners of the 36:28Lit dwelling place tabernacle at the 36:28Lit extreme parts rear.
29 And they were 36:29Lit twins separated beneath, but were together at their completion at the 36:29Or head top, 36:29Or with reference to at the first ring; thus he did with both of them for the two corners.
30 And there were eight boards with their bases of silver, sixteen bases, two bases under every board.
31 Then he made bars of acacia wood, five for the boards of one side of the tabernacle,
32 and five bars for the boards of the 36:32Or second other side of the tabernacle, and five bars for the boards of the tabernacle for the 36:32Lit extreme parts rearsideto the west.
33 And he made the middle bar to pass through in the 36:33Lit midst center of the boards from end to end.
34 He also overlaid the boards with gold and made their rings of goldasholders for the bars and overlaid the bars with gold.
35 Moreover, he made the veil of 36:35Or violet blue and purple and scarletmaterialand fine twisted linen; he made it with cherubim, the work of a skillful designer.
36 And he made four pillars of acacia for it and overlaid them with gold, with their hooks of gold; and he cast four bases of silver for them.
37 And he made a screen for the doorway of the tent, of 36:37Or violet blue and purple and scarletmaterialand fine twisted linen, the work of a 36:37A weaver in colors; lit variegator weaver;
38 andhe madeits five pillars with their hooks, and he overlaid their tops and their 36:38Or fillets, rings bands with gold; but their five bases were of 36:38Or copper bronze.
