1 Psalm 104 The Glory of Yahweh Endures Forever Bless Yahweh, O my soul!O Yahweh my God, You are very great;You are clothed with splendor and majesty,
2 Wrapping Yourself with light as with a cloak,Stretching out the heavens like atentcurtain.
3 104:3Lit The one who He lays the beams of His upper chambers in the waters; 104:3Lit The one who He sets up the cloudsto beHis chariot; 104:3Lit The one who He walks upon the wings of the wind;
4 104:4Lit Who He makes His 104:4Or messengers angels the winds,His ministers flaming fire.
5 ¶He founded the earth upon its place,So that it will not 104:5Or move out of place shake forever and ever.
6 You covered it with the deep as with a garment;The waters were standing above the mountains.
7 At Your rebuke they fled,At the sound of Your thunder they hurried away in alarm.
8 The mountains went up; the valleys went downTo the place which You founded for them.
9 You set a boundary that they may not pass over,So that they will not return to cover the earth.
10 ¶ 104:10Lit The one who sends He sends forth springs in the valleys;They flow between the mountains;
11 They give water to every beast of the field;The wild donkeys quench their thirst.
12 Above them the birds of the heavens dwell;They give forththeirvoices among the branches.
13 104:13 Lit Who He gives water to the mountains from His upper chambers;The earth is satisfied with the fruit of His works.
14 ¶ 104:14Lit Who He causes the grass to grow for the 104:14Or beasts cattle,And vegetation for man’s 104:14Or labor cultivation,To bring forth 104:14Lit bread food from the earth,
15 And wine which makes man’s heart glad,To makehisface glisten more than oil,And 104:15Lit bread food which sustains man’s heart.
16 The trees of Yahweh are satisfied,The cedars of Lebanon which He planted,
17 Where the birds build their nests,The stork’s home is in the 104:17Or cypress fir trees.
18 ¶The high mountains are for the wild goats;The cliffs are a refuge for the 104:18Small, shy, furry animals (Hyrax syriacus) shephanim.
19 He made the moon for the seasons;The sun knows the place of its setting.
20 You appoint darkness so that it becomes night,In which all the beasts of the forest creep about.
21 The young lions roarto goafter their preyAnd to seek their food from God.
22 Whenthe sun rises they gather togetherAnd lie down in their dens.
23 Man goes forth to his workAnd to his labor until evening.
24 ¶How numerous are Your works, O Yahweh! 104:24Or With In wisdom You have made them all;The earth is full of Your 104:24Or creatures possessions.
25 This is the sea, great and 104:25Or broad of dimensions; lit broad of hands broad,Therethecreeping things are without number,Creatures both small and great.
26 There the ships move along,And 104:26Or a sea monster Leviathan, which You have formed to play in it.
27 ¶They all wait for YouTo give them their food in 104:27Lit its appointed time due season.
28 You give to them, they gatheritup;You open Your hand, they are satisfied with good.
29 You hide Your face, they are dismayed;You take away their 104:29Or breath spirit, they breathe their lastAnd return to their dust.
30 You send forth Your 104:30 Or breath Spirit, they are created;And You renew the face of the ground.
31 ¶Let the glory of Yahweh endure forever;Let Yahweh be glad in His works;
32 104:32Lit The one who He looks at the earth, and it trembles;He touches the mountains, and they smoke.
33 104:33Or Let me sing I will sing to Yahweh throughout my life; 104:33Or Let me sing I will sing praise to my God 104:33Lit while I still am while I havemybeing.
34 Let my musing be pleasing to Him;As for me, I shall be glad in Yahweh.
35 Let sinners be consumed from the earthAnd let the wicked be no more.Bless Yahweh, O my soul. 104:35Or Hallelujah! Praise Yah!
