2 Their Good Example Rom. 1:8;2 Thess. 1:3 We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers,
3 remembering without ceasing John 6:29 your work of faith, Rom. 16:6 labor of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the sight of our God and Father,
4 knowing, beloved brethren, Col. 3:12 your election by God.
5 For Mark 16:20 our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power, 2 Cor. 6:6 and in the Holy Spirit Heb. 2:3 and in much assurance, as you know what kind of men we were among you for your sake.
6 And 1 Cor. 4:16; 11:1 you became followers of us and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, Acts 5:41; 13:52;2 Cor. 6:10; Gal. 5:22 with joy of the Holy Spirit,
7 so that you became examples to all in Macedonia and Achaia who believe.
8 For from you the word of the Lord Rom. 10:18 has sounded forth, not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also Rom. 1:8; 16:19;2 Cor. 2:14;2 Thess. 1:4 in every place. Your faith toward God has gone out, so that we do not need to say anything.
9 For they themselves declare concerning us 1 Thess. 2:1 what manner of entry we had to you, 1 Cor. 12:2 and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God,
10 and (Rom. 2:7) to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus who delivers us Matt. 3:7; Rom. 5:9 from the wrath to come.
