(New King James Version)

  • 1 Do Not Sue the Brethren Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unrighteous, and not before the Dan. 7:22; Matt. 19:28 saints?
  • 2 Do you not know that Ps. 49:14 the saints will judge the world? And if the world will be judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters?
  • 3 Do you not know that we shall 2 Pet. 2:4 judge angels? How much more, things that pertain to this life?
  • 4 If then you have judgments concerning things pertaining to this life, do you appoint those who are least esteemed by the church to judge?
  • 5 I say this to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you, not even one, who will be able to judge between his brethren?
  • 6 But brother goes to law against brother, and that before unbelievers!
  • 7 Now therefore, it is already an utter failure for you that you go to law against one another. (Prov. 20:22) Why do you not rather accept wrong? Why do you not rather let yourselves be cheated?
  • 8 No, you yourselves do wrong and cheat, and you do these things to your brethren!
  • 9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Acts 20:32; (1 Cor. 15:50); Gal. 5:21; Eph. 5:5;1 Tim. 1:9 Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites,
  • 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.
  • 11 And such were (1 Cor. 12:2; Col. 3:5–7; Titus 3:3–7) some of you. Heb. 10:22 But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.
  • 12 Glorify God in Body and Spirit 1 Cor. 10:23 All things are lawful for me, but all things are not helpful. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.
  • 13 Matt. 15:17; (Rom. 14:17); Col. 2:22 Foods for the stomach and the stomach for foods, but God will destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for 1 Cor. 5:1; Gal. 5:19; Eph. 5:3; Col. 3:5;1 Thess. 4:3 sexual immorality but 1 Thess. 4:3 for the Lord, (Eph. 5:23) and the Lord for the body.
  • 14 And Rom. 6:5, 8;2 Cor. 4:14 God both raised up the Lord and will also raise us up Eph. 1:19 by His power.
  • 15 Do you not know that Rom. 12:5;1 Cor. 6:13; 12:27; Eph. 5:30 your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a harlot? Certainly not!
  • 16 Or do you not know that he who is joined to a harlot is one body with her? For Gen. 2:24; Matt. 19:5; Mark 10:8; Eph. 5:31 “the two,” He says, “shall become one flesh.”
  • 17 (John 17:21–23; Rom. 8:9–11); 1 Cor. 6:15; (Gal. 2:20); Eph. 4:4 But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.
  • 18 Rom. 6:12;1 Cor. 6:9;2 Cor. 12:21; Eph. 5:3; Col. 3:5; Heb. 13:4 Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins Rom. 1:24;1 Thess. 4:4 against his own body.
  • 19 Or John 2:21;1 Cor. 3:16;2 Cor. 6:16 do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, Rom. 14:7 and you are not your own?
  • 20 For Acts 20:28;1 Cor. 7:23; Gal. 3:13;1 Pet. 1:18;2 Pet. 2:1; Rev. 5:9 you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.
