  • 1 Rejoice in the Lord Always Therefore my brothers, loved and longed for, my joy and crown, in this way stand firm in the Lord, my beloved.
  • 2 I urge Euodia and I urge Syntyche to think the same way in the Lord.
  • 3 Indeed, I ask you also, genuine companion, help these women who have contended together alongside of me in the gospel, with also Clement and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the book of life.
  • 4 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice!
  • 5 Let your consideratespiritbe known to all men. The Lord is 4:5 Or at hand near.
  • 6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
  • 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all 4:7Lit mind comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
  • 8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is dignified, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is 4:8Or lovable and gracious lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, consider these things.
  • 9 The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.God Will Fill Your Needs
  • 10 But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at last you have revived thinking about me; indeed, you were thinking about mebefore, but you lacked opportunity.
  • 11 Not that I speak 4:11Lit according to from want, for I learned to be 4:11Or self-sufficient content in whatever circumstances I am.
  • 12 I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in abundance; in any and all things I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need.
  • 13 I can do all things 4:13Lit in through Him who strengthens me.
  • 14 Nevertheless, you have done well to fellowshipwith mein my affliction.
  • 15 And you yourselves also know, Philippians, that at the 4:15 Lit beginning of first preaching of the gospel, after I left Macedonia, no church fellowshipped with me in the matter of giving and receiving but you alone.
  • 16 For even in Thessalonica you senta giftmore than once for my needs.
  • 17 Not that I seek the gift itself, but I seek the fruit which increases to your account.
  • 18 But I have received everything in full and have an abundance; I have been filled, having received from Epaphroditus 4:18Lit the things from you what you have sent, 4:18Lit an odor of fragrance a fragrant aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God.
  • 19 And my God will fulfill 4:19 Or every need of yours all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
  • 20 Now to our God and Fatherbethe glory 4:20 Lit to the ages of the ages forever and ever. Amen.
  • 21 Greet every 4:21Or holy one saint in Christ Jesus. The brothers who are with me greet you.
  • 22 All the 4:22v21,note 1 saints greet you, especially those of Caesar’s household.
  • 23 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.
